Eagle Scout Project The Orange Historical Society has been fortunate to have two Eagle Scout projects in two years, building a wall in an area that surrounds what we call the courtyard.  Once dug out, the courtyard was just there with dirt walls surrounding it.  Both Miles O’Sullivan and Jason Byun saw the need for walls and in the summer of 2019, Miles built one side and in 2020 Jason Byun and his father built the other side.   You will only see Jason and his father as Covid-19 prevented Jason from having help from other scouts until the restrictions were lifted.  Using rocks from a near-by stream, both teams utilized every single piece that was once the land surrounding the Saybrook River which winds its way through town near where the Bryan-Andrew house was built in 1740.  The foundation of the house exhibits the same blue stone, we call river rock. The rock pile was delivered many years ago by the foreman who built the Goddard School adjacent to the river.
Team Miles - Breaking ground for a strong new wall!
Team Jason - Steadfastly up for the challenge to finish the job!
Two Amazing Teams! One Great Wall!
